Chronicle Book Publishers is an independent publishing company based in Los Angeles, creating meaningful and thoughtfully designed works since the Summer of Love.

We are inspired by the enduring magic of books and by the power of storytelling to spark curiosity, creativity, and passion in others.

What We Do

As soon as you pick up one of our publications, we want you to immediately recognize that it came from us and you should be able to tell the care, quality, and attention to detail behind it.

We consider every element of the publishing experience. Does the design support and enhance the content? How does the book feel in your hands? What thoughtful details can we add to make it something you will value and treasure?

We bring this same level of care to everything we create, whether it is a book, journal, game, eBook, or one of our newest publishing innovations.

Where We Do It

Based in Los Angeles, our headquarters are housed in a thoughtfully repurposed former maritime machine shop and warehouse, a space that reflects both our creative spirit and our publishing heritage.

Our four floors bring every part of the publishing process together under one roof. One floor is dedicated to sales, marketing, and operations, another to editorial and contracts, and another to design and production. We also have collaborative meeting spaces where our teams come together to exchange ideas, develop projects, and bring new concepts to life.

Our headquarters even include a storefront open to visitors. If you are ever in Los Angeles, stop by, bring your favorite tote, or take home one of ours.
